The WAEOPP Scholarship Committee is happy to announce
the scholarships available for 2016!!!
The WAEOPP and EOA scholarship applications have been released and are now online through the “Scholarship Central” website. (Please note that the upper left hand corner of the application site reads St. Louis Graduates – this is the correct website).
As a WAEOPP member you can nominate students for these scholarship opportunities. To be eligible for the WAEOPP & EOA scholarships, the student needs to complete the “Board of Directors” online application.
We currently have 3 Board of Director’s scholarship awards available, as well as one each of the EOA ELI and Veterans Scholarships.
WAEOPP/EOA Board of Director’s Scholarships:
The WAEOPP Board of Directors has established a scholarship program to help finance higher education. All students who participate in a TRIO/EOP Program in Wisconsin are eligible to be nominated for the WAEOPP/EOA Board of Director’s Scholarship. Three nominations from each TRIO program can be submitted for these scholarships.
Three $1000 scholarships will be awarded for TRIO/EOP participants who are newly enrolled or continuing in undergraduate studies in fall 2016. At least one scholarship will be awarded to a current high school senior. The scholarships cannot be used for graduate school.
Who should apply?
When is the application due?
The WAEOPP Scholarship Committee will select the recipient of the scholarship by early April. The scholarship recipients will be selected on the basis of community service, academic achievement, essay, and nomination letter.
EOA Emerging Leaders Institute Scholarship:
One student in the EOA region will be awarded $1000.00 toward their educational needs. The Emerging Leader Institute (ELI) Scholarship fund was established in collaboration with the EOA Emerging Leaders Institute and the EOA Foundation (EOAF). Since 2002, select EOA ELI cohorts have fundraised each year for student scholarships.
One $1000.00 Emerging Leader Institute Scholarship will be available in 2016. This is a one time, non-renewable scholarship.
EOA Veteran’s Scholarship:
The Veterans Scholarship fund was established in collaboration with the EOA Foundation and the EOA Board of Directors. The scholarship is to help veterans with educational expenses as they pursue higher education.
Two $500.00 Veterans Scholarships will be available in 2016. Each Chapter is eligible to receive one award per year. One WAEOPP Veteran’s Scholarship nominee will be selected to compete in the EOA selection for the $500 awards.
